This is almost everything I have been doing for the past few days (+ watching tennis last night with M. (go Novak!) and taking a walk with K. today). I’ve been trying to play the part of Matrix’s theme song Clubbed to death. Please, keep in mind that I’ve never played the piano before! lol

Smiley faces.

When you see them in random places they instantly put a smile on your face. I was driving late last night, it was about 3 am, and I stopped at the traffic lights. When the green light turned on there was a smiley face drawn on it. I was smiling myself right away!

My sister once did this ‘take a smile’ paper. She put it on some random building downtown and later that day a saw a photo of it on Facebook. It was my friend, he wrote how he was going home from school all gloomy until he suddenly saw it. He said it immediately made his day better. And I noticed a lot of smileys were taken off.

Sometimes it takes a little to make someone’s day better. :)

I know most of you would probably think that I’m late with this, but this is how I do it. I always set my monthly goals when the month already starts (same goes with the New Year’s resolutions!). Somehow as soon as the month starts I begin to realise what would my monthly goals be. Or maybe it’s because as soon as the end of the month arrives I always say there’s enough time. But there isn’t, time is flying so fast and my summer vacation is almost over.

Back to my September goals. I need to get ready for a big change in my life - moving out. I’m heading out to the university and I’m going to live in an apartment with M. and my best friend S. So we need to make sure to list and buy all of the essential home supplies and there’s more interior designing assignments for me. The apartment already has furniture so I just need to think of adding some details and making it feel more like home. The furniture is a bit old and not really modern so it really needs some decorating.

My main goal for September will be: start… There are a lot of things I want to start and continue doing them once I start my school year, make them a habit.

The five people you meet in heaven is a story about a man called Eddie who is a maintenance worker in an amusement park. On his 83rd birthday, Eddie dies in an accident trying to save a little girl. He finds himself in heaven where he meets five people he has come across once, many times or people he has never met before, but the people who have changed his life forever. Every person teaches him a lesson and show how he affected the world.

This book makes you think what would the world be like if you weren’t born, something similar as the film It’s a wonderful life does. It makes you think how have we impacted someone’s life or how we will in the future. It also shows you how we are all connected, all our actions and everything we do affects someone and change their life. If you think more about it, it’s true. I never really thought of that before so I find this book to be very inspirational and eye-opening.

The reason it hurts so much to separate is because our souls are connected. Maybe they always have been and will be. Maybe we’ve lived a thousand lives before this one and in each of them we’ve found each other. And maybe each time, we’ve been forced apart for the same reasons. That means that this goodbye is both a goodbye for the past ten thousand years and a prelude to what will come.

My days consist of pretty much the same things every day: hanging out with my friends and my boyfriend, watching films, working out, reading, preparing some stuff for university… And I like it this way, I want to keep it like this for these few weeks I have before I head to uni. Considering this time last year, I think I’ve changed a bit, I’m now more focused on my goals and needs than I was than. I’m now sure I know what I want and I’m making my way to get it. But before I leave home, I’ll just relax, do the things that I love and fill my batteries for next months.

I think working out is slowly becoming a part of my everyday routine. Two years ago I was really into it, but when school started I couldn’t keep up with everything. Now I know it’s all about balancing and organising, you can manage to do everything just if you organise your day and do not procrastinate. So that shouldn’t be hard for someone who likes to keep everything under control. To-do lists are my best friends and there always must be time for healthy lifestyle!

Yesterday I was sore. I’m using Yourself!Fitness application and Maya literally kicked my butt. My legs were so sore I had trouble walking and climbing the stairs. lol Today everything is fine, I’ve done my workout session without a sweat and I noticed I gained few pounds! Well that’s motivating! :)

Last night was just me and the tv, I was watching Netherlands - San Marino game. I love watching football and I root for the Netherlands national football team, but I could talk (write) about it for ages. After the great game I waited for my sister to come home with her friend, hang out with them for a bit and then headed to bed. I’m trying to get my normal sleeping schedule back. I’m not staying awake until 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning anymore. lol

So I woke up a bit earlier than usual, at 8 am. I was sleepy, but I didn’t want to spend more time in my bed so I got up. I love waking up early in the morning (well, maybe not that early) because my day always feels longer. And today I was fairly productive. Here’s my ‘I did it’ list for today:

worked out
made a new theme for tumblr
done the laundry
cleaned the house
wiped the floors
made lunch (and I managed to burn my finger, bravo!)

I still need to wash my car, but M. wants to help me with that, so I’ll wait for him to come over. In between I still need to do some things for university and maybe watch a movie to kill time before he gets here.

What a great start of September! First of all M. stayed over, he came here yesterday. We watched some basketball last night (as well as today, well, he watched it I fell asleep) then our family friend N. came over and we were making something to eat when my sister said she’d love to live someday with me and M. She’s so sweet, I’m glad they two get together really well. :)

At 8am my phone started ringing, our old classmates were calling us to go to our old school. I love hanging out with them, we always have so much fun. We were also all together at the breakfast and I couldn’t eat because I was laughing so much.

When I got home I went with M. and K. to our bestfriend S. We all went to same class and we are really good friends, they are my best friends, so that’s why we’re always hanging out together. We had a water balloon fight, you can imagine what my clothes looked like. lol And later on we played basketball in wet grass and got really muddy. Great day with friends! I’m now waiting for K. to come over so that’s why my writing is a bit messy. :)

My top 3 summer essentials

Since this is the last day of August, I thought I could make a list of my top essentials this summer, my favourites this summer. These are the things that I wore regularly this summer and what I like about them. I also think these are the items which can easily make your outfit more chic.

1. Bright colours

Bright colours for brightening up any outfit! My favourite colour combination this summer has been yellow-blue (with bright yellow nail polish!), yellow-turquoise and red-blue combination as well.

2. Fedora hat

I’ve been loving fedora hats. It can go with most of the outfits, so I’ve been sure not to leave the house during the day without my hat. It’s not only stylish, but also protects you from the sun.

3. Denim vest

It’s easy to alternate between denim vest for warmer weather and denim jacket during the colder nights. Denim vest is perfect for all seasons, adding a touch of boho to your outfit. This summer I’ve been wearing it mostly with floral print (check it out here).

I read many negative reviews about this film, so I guess me and my sister are the only who loved it. lol I had this film for some time and today while I was going through some that I have I bumped into this. I saw that Jennifer Lopez was in it and I thought “Yes, I’m in a mood for chick-flick” and called my sister to join me. Films rarely make me laugh out loud, but this one did, my sister was laughing even harder than I have.

The main character is Zoe who conceives twins through artificial insemination. She has hard time letting people into her life and letting them come close which reminded me of myself. lol The film was funny and cute, so if you’re in mood for something like that go ahead and watch it! :)

My days consist of mostly the same things - hanging out with my friends and going out, going to the birthday parties, lying in my bed and watching films (send me your recommendations!) etc. Oh, I’ve also been decorating my room, I might post some photos of it since it looks better now. I stopped going to the pool, because it’s so hot outside and I couldn’t bother. I also didn’t workout, I’ll start working out regularly once September starts (I’m also thinking about morning jogging). While other start school in a few days, some as myself, start in October. There’s still plenty of time to do anything I want to do before school starts.

By the way, M. and I had some misunderstanding last night, so I’m not in the best mood. I hate arguing with him, it always ends in crying myself to sleep. :(

summer bucket list: tanning

I’ve been crossing some things off my summer bucket list and I consider my tanning done. I’m not as much tanned as last year because I didn’t spend that much time at the beach as last year. Both this and last year I’ve been using Coppertone tanning oil and I think it’s the best tanning oil I’ve been using so far.

Laughing

Laughing so much that you can’t finish your sentence and you just keep bursting out loud after every word you say. After some time you finally finish your sentence with you eyes filled with tears. Yes, it doesn’t count if you don’t start crying because of how hilarious it is! :)
